AMMUNITION LATEX COUTURE SHOOT
Latex. You see it everywhere these days. From Katy Perry to Lady Gaga, we’ve all seen beautiful women tightly squeezed into these body-hugging pieces then lubed up into a gleam. Even with its newer exposure to mainstream media, latex designs are hardly a new trend. I was first exposed to the art of latex in 2008 thanks to Philadelphia based photographer, REDRUM COLLABORATION. They had just nabbed the February cover of Bizarre Magazine with their latex-ual shoot with the amazing MOSH. The shine, the sex, I was in love.
I recently had the chance to work with latex designer, Jeffrey Gonzales of Ammunition Latex Couture. Based out of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Gonzales’ work is impressive to say the least. I have worked with LOTS of latex in my day, but none quite as unique as Jeffrey’s pieces. A true craftsman, each gorgeous detail is fabricated with utmost quality and skill. We had been hoping to collaborate since early summer, and finally got the chance! A fabulous hair and makeup team was created by myself, (makeup) and Rosie Davalos of Rockit Hair Studio. The lovely model chosen for the shoot was Mandi Hinojos. Internationally recognized photographer, Wes Naman, completed the collaboration with his dark, pulp-fictiony style. Check them all out! Jeffrey also accepts custom commissions and each piece is handmade and one-of-a-kind.
